Miriam’s boyfriend and unwitting object of Sherry’s (well-hidden) desire. Chuck and Miriam communicated for a year online before they met in person, so he’s well aware of her flaws as well as her virtues. Generally a tolerant and accepting person, he has been willing to look the other way when unsavory rumors about Miriam have surfaced. Seems to have a somewhat antagonistic relationship with his roommate James, but they are clearly friends, as evidenced by the amount of time they spend together. His job appears to be a reasonably well-paying one. He has been known to help James out financially, apparently with little or no expectation of reimbursement.
